The Republic of Cyprus can be a wonderful country to retire to, or in which to own a holiday home, having beautiful scenery and beaches, a great all-year climate and low taxes and crime.

Many happy foreign buyers have already found their dream homes in Cyprus.

However, due to the risks of buying from Cypriot developers, many more have lived to regret the decision as they still don’t have legal ownership of their properties, often after many years.  For quite a few it has turned out to be a living nightmare in which they stand to lose everything.

This newly relaunched website (April 2011) gives buyers information on the risks and illegal practices with guidance for buyers on how to complain to the various authorities including newly discovered Competition and Consumer Protection Service.

The Cyprus Property Action Group warns prospective buyers that currently only by purchasing a resale property with full Title Deeds can buyers be sure of adequate protection from the potential property pitfalls – regardless of what the salesperson trying to sell you the new property tells you!

Important: Buyers – if you do not have your Title Deeds yet you may find important facts about developer mortgages and other important information on your development by obtaining a Land Registry Survey.
